As long as you meet the following requirements, you are eligible to apply for immigration to Hong Kong, through the Scheme, from the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government:
- be aged 18 or above when applying for entry under the Scheme, while Mainland applicants must have the status in a foreign country;
- have net assets of not less than HK$10 million to which he/she is absolutely beneficially entitled throughout the two years preceding your application;
- have invested within 6 months before submission of his/her application to the Immigration Department, or will invest within six months after the granting of approval-in-principle by the Immigration Department, not less than HK$10 million in Permissible Investment Asset Classes (except Certificates of Deposits, which must be invested within the latter period);
- have no adverse immigration record and meets normal immigration and security requirements both in Hong Kong and country/region of residence;
- be able to demonstrate that he/she is capable of supporting and accommodating himself/herself and his/her dependants, if any, on his/her own without relying on any return on the permissible investment assets, employment or public assistance in Hong Kong, hence, the spouse and unmarried children under the age of 18 of the applicant can join the application.
The applicant should invest not less than HK$10 million in one or a combination of the following permissible investment assets. He/she is allowed to switch his/her investment to other permissible investment assets*, which include:
- Equities
- Bonds
- Certificates of Deposits
- Subordinated Debt
- Eligible Collective Investment Schemes (ECIS)
* Investor must keep a contemporaneous record in writing of every change to his portfolio of the permissible investment assets and provide this record to the Immigration Department via financial intermediaries.
